The K5X05, K5X1, and K5X2 5-Axis Kinematic Optic Mounts have optic cells that can be adjusted along 5 axes (pitch, yaw, and XYZ). The three adjusters for pitch, yaw, and z-translation include locking screws on the K5X05 mount, while the X and Y axes are not lockable. The K5X1 and K5X2 mounts feature locking screws on all five adjusters.
The kinematic mounts' translating optic cells feature SM05 (0.535"-40), SM1 (1.035"-40), or SM2 (2.035"-40) internal threading for attaching mounted optics. A SM05RR, SM1RR, or SM2RR Retaining Ring is included with each 5-axis mount for securing unmounted optics. See the table below for appropriate optic sizes for each mount.
The SM05RR Retaining Ring can be tightened using an SPW603 or SPW603L Spanner Wrench, the SM1RR Retaining Ring can be tightened with the SPW602 or SPW606 Spanner Wrench, and the SM2RR Retaining Ring can be tightened using an SPW604 Spanner Wrench (spanner wrenches sold separately). Alternatively, the SPW801 Adjustable Spanner Wrench (sold separately) can provide an exact fit for any of the retaining rings used in the 5-axis mounts. The mounts feature engraved vertical and horizontal tick marks to use as an alignment aid for the mounting cell. The K5X05, K5X1, and K5X2 kinematic mounts can be post mounted in a right- or left-handed configuration; two orthogonal #8 (M4) counterbores are provided on the K5X05 and K5X1 mounts, while the K5X2 mount has three #8 (M4) counterbores on each orthogonal mounting surface (six total).
A 5/64" hex key or ball driver (not included) can be used to adjust the five axes of all the kinematic mounts. The K5X05 mount is equipped with 3/16"-100 knobless adjustment screws; the three screws used for pitch, yaw, and z-axis adjustment are lockable with a 5/64" hex key and feature Ø0.07" side holes for adjustment in tight setups. The K5X1 and K5X2 kinematic mounts include three 1/4"-80 adjuster screws with removable knobs for pitch, yaw, and z-axis adjustment, which can be locked with a 5/64" hex key. The X and Y axes on the K5X1 and K5X2 mounts are adjusted with two 3/16"-100 adjuster screws (the K5X1 mount features removable knobs on these axes) that can be locked with the included 0.035" hex key. If higher adjustment resolution or control is desired for the K5X1 or K5X2 mount, the three 1/4"-80 adjusters can be switched with DAS110 or DM22 Differential Adjusters.
For adjustment on all of the axes available with the K5X05, K5X1, or K5X2 mounts plus rotational adjustment, we offer the K6X05, K6XS, or K6X2 6-Axis Kinematic Mount.

(posted 2024-08-27 14:51:19.083) Please tell me the load capacity of this product (K5X1) jdelia
(posted 2024-08-29 11:59:27.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. While we have not characterized a load capacity for our 5-axis mounts, I have contacted you directly via email to discuss your application and whether the load you would like to mount would be suitable for these devices.  (posted 2024-08-20 12:04:05.37) Hello, in the drawing of the K5X05-Mount you can see the nominal values. Do they describe the case, where the K5X05 is shown in the middle of it's adjustment range? (So it's z-range is 4.6mm, does the drawing show the mount, when it's in the middel of that, at 2.3mm, so i can move it 2,3mm in either direction?) jdelia
(posted 2024-08-21 03:53:36.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. Yes, you are correct. The CAD drawing shows the mount at its nominal position, meaning at the middle of its travel range. Jakob Reichel

 (posted 2018-02-23 17:29:49.81) Hi
My name is Glenn.
Can 5 Axis kinematic mount use as C-mount on microscope ? I have a Zeiss 2 port phototube but with slightly different tilting angle of each port , I'm currently use fixed 1X C-mount , can I use this product to adjust? Thank you so much! llamb
(posted 2018-03-30 03:15:00.0) Hello Glenn, thank you for contacting Thorlabs. The K5X1 has an SM1-threaded bore, to which you can connect a thread adapter (like our SM1A10) in order to adapt to C-mount threads. I will reach out to you directly to discuss your application further and see if this product is suitable. a.webber-date

 (posted 2015-07-28 10:36:09.6) regarding product K5X1
I just need half of this! rotation plus x-y mount
any solution? besembeson
(posted 2015-09-23 06:38:21.0) Response from Bweh at Thorlabs USA: We don't have a single solution at the moment. One way to achieve this now is to couple an XY mount such as the LM1XY to a rotation mount such as the CRM1 (or similar) using a coupler like the SM1T2 (or similar). |
